Sunday 2nd August 2020 10:30Sunday Service ONLINE: please join with us if you can

As Sunday’s is almost upon us, here is this week’s menu of Sunday Service options offered by the Circuit Worship Team and beyond.

1) The Circuit Video service will as usual appear on the Dorset South and West website www.dsw.church on Saturday evening and this week’s service is led by Rev'd Peter Clarke with music from Heather Reed and Pete Brazier, readings from Susan Clark and has a reprise of prayers that were originally in a post-Easter video service from the Soul Space Team which we thought deserved a re-share!  The YouTube link is here though doesn’t go live on YouTube until 5pm tonight: https://youtu.be/pGx7McHsaWo

2) The Audio Service from the URC Daily Devotions Team will be led on Sunday by the Rev'd Dr Kirsty Thorpe, Minister of a URC in Wilmslow and someone who periodically leads the Radio 4 Sunday morning service so may be familiar to some of us. 

Hymns include: 
   Let All the World In Every Corner Sing,
   Ruth Duck’s Holy Wisdom, Lamp of Learning,
   James Edmeston’s Lead Us Heavenly Father Lead Us, and
   Bryn Rees’ The Kingdom of God is Justice and Joy.

The service will go online, as normal, at 9.45 on Sunday morning for a 10am start.  If you have any problems receiving it please read the website for advice: www.urc.org.uk then finding the link to the Daily Devotions and clicking the Service option.  As usual you will have the option of printing the service sheet too.
As always the service will be sent out in time for a 10am start but you can listen at any point after that.
 
3) Finally we still have the link to the Video Service from the Soul Space Team, continuing our journey through the Book of Ruth, with the reflection by Rev'd Peter Clarke

Sunday 9th August 2020 10:00Normal Service ? Not quite but a step closer @ 10.00 am !

NORMAL SERVICE is NOT yet resumed: BUT we are making a start by meeting together (10.00 am) at Bridport United Church in East Street, DT6 3LJ, to watch this Sunday's Zoom DSW Circuit service on the big screen, current HMG guidelines will apply.

however, for those not able to join us still, here is this week’s menu of Sunday Service options offered by the Circuit Worship Team and beyond.

1) Methodist Circuit Video service which will as usual appear on the Dorset South and West website www.dsw.church on Saturday evening and this week’s service is led by me with a Reflection from another of my friends from Theological College Days, (now based in Scotland), the Rev’d Sarah Moore, plus music from Heather Reed and Pete Brazier. 2) URC Audio Service from the URC Daily Devotions Team will be led on Sunday by the Sunday’s service of Holy Communion is led by the Rev’d Stewart Cutler minister of St Ninian’s Church in Stonehouse, a partnership between the Church of Scotland and the United Reformed Church.  

Hymns include:

  William Whiting’s Eternal Father, Strong to Save,

  Priscilla J Owens’ Will Your Anchor Hold?,

  Brian Wren’s I Come With Joy To Meet My Lord, a lovely Sanctus from Argentina in both Spanish and English, and

  Cecil Francis Alexander’s Jesus Calls O’er the Tumult.

3. This week’s bonus will be another Video Service on YouTube from the Soul Space Team, based in the Bridport United Church.  Having now completed our series on the Book of Ruth the whole team will be sharing a number of short reflections on Psalm 46, together with songs and prayers.  The group incidentally met recently and planned our programme right to the end of the year, by which time we, too, will be hoping to offer ‘live’ services.  A double bonus?

Sunday 23rd August 2020 10:30Nothing in the Church this week. We are back to the 'net

Because the Rev'd Peter Clarke is away on Annual Leave, there will no live or screened Sunday Services at BUC in Bridport, but the internet will still provide us with access to worship online if we want.

Service Options:

1)  The Circuit Video service will as usual appear on the Dorset South and West website www.dsw.church on Saturday evening and this week’s service is a little different as now that we are leading live services, we are being a bit pushed to produce a video one too!  Instead the video on YouTube will in fact be a recording of that very live service the Rev'd Peter Clarke led at United Church Dorchester last week.  Here’s the YouTube Link https://youtu.be/n8uq0RjhIB0

2) The Audio Service from the URC Daily Devotions Team will be led on Sunday Sunday’s service is led by the Rev’d Phil Nevard, minister of Kingsteinton URC in Devon.  Hymns include:

   Augustus Montague Toplady’s Rock of Ages, and

   Patrick Appleford’s Turning the World Upside Down.

Rev Peter Clarke is away for a few more days but we hope to be in church next Sunday for a live service.
