Pastoral Letter: w/e 26th December 2020

Dear Friend from Bridport United Church, Uploders Methodist Church or Hope & Radipole United Reformed Churches,

Well, just as the mini Christmas Tree Festival was a success, so the Christmas Carol Service and Christmas Day Service went delightfully well.  Together they somehow confirmed what we’ve saying for weeks that, pandemic or no pandemic, Christmas has not been cancelled.  Different, minimalistic in some ways but definitely celebrated in a Christian fashion!

However, with them having passed (possibly prompted by the fact that the live Sunday Service tomorrow has been canceled!) I’ve gone into slow mode and forgotten to give you this Sunday’s Service options!

So, without further ado, apart form wishing you all a blessed and healthy 2021, let me cut to the quick?

1)  There is not going to be a Video Service for Youtube this Sunday, but John Yarrien does have an alternative for folks should they wish.

The Methodist Church, as part of its #GodWithUS campaign has produced a Christmas Service for people to download and listen to, with Carols and a message from the President and Vice President of Conference.

2)  The Audio Service  from the United Reformed Church will this week from the Daily Devotions Team is a Sunday service explores the very challenging story of the ‘Holy Innocents” - a painful reminder that children and civilians are often on the rough end of things when wars and injustice arise.  In keeping with the Advent services, this service will contain meditations from Baptist minister Nick Fawcett.
Hymns include
What Child is This,
a beautiful Annie Lennox rendition of the Coventry Carol,
Unto Us Is Born a Son, and
On This Day Earth Shall Ring.

Every blessing from your Minister,
